Bloggers Love Fashion Week

Last Wednesday I was lucky enough to attend Bloggers Love Fashion Week in London. #BLFW featured a bunch of amazing brands, most of which I'll be honest and say I'd never heard of. But I spent time with a lot of the brands finding out all about the products and collections they were showcasing at the event. I unfortunately could only attend the one day so I missed Thursdays shenanigans, but I'll be sure to catch up on other's blogs!

I didn't take that many photographs, just because I spent so much time walking around chatting and enjoying the event, and I couldn't quite catch the girls in the fashion show very well with my camera. But I thought it would be nice to share the few photos I did take, and what they're all about.

What Cat Wore | To #BLFW

Bomber - Matalan // Crop Top, Clutch Bag & Jeans - Miss Selfridge // Boots - New Look

At long last I'm posting my outfit from #BLFW last week on Wednesday! Sometimes life just takes over and blogging has to take a backseat... The perks of balancing, work, a social life, blogging and me time!
ANYWAY. Here is what I wore to the Bloggers Love Fashion Week event on Wednesday! I'm absolutely loving these jeans at the moment being a sucker for razor knee jeans. They're really soft and comfy to wear too which is always a bonus with fashion. I wore it with my striped crop top and to add a pop of colour to this outfit I wore out my bright pink bomber from Matalan (via Swap Shop). I didn't actually take the bag because I've got a thing about not having my bag physically attached to me in some way when I go to London. I'm really aware and paranoid about possible city thieves!

The evening was pretty awesome, and buzzing all night! I went with Isabelle who has her own YouTube channel and also blogs over at Tainted Blues and spent all night walking around chatting to all the brands that were there and were given a few amazing freebies which I'll be soon blogging about! There was a fashion show, a DJ and so much stuff going on! I even got a necklace designed for me by the lovely Miisa, founder of Mink & Stone! I've actually bought it so I'll be sure to show it off soon! ♥ A super successful evening if you ask me :)

Did you go to #BLFW? How did you find it?

This month's My Little Box although a little late on the blog, is SUPER! (lolz, geddit?) I don't think there's anything better than a message about empowering yourself, not only as a woman but a person! You can be your own superhero. Because who says you can't?

Tomorrow is #BLFW and I'm so excited to go to my first 'Fashion Week' event. I think I have my outfit planned out - but I'm that person who always changes it last minute, so I'm not going to say what I'll be wearing in case I may be lying! Anyway, off the tanget - My reminder email came yesterday and just for fun the people at Bloggers Love created a #BLFW tag! One of the activities going on tomorrow is a fashion tea party, so the questions are a bit 'mad' if you know what I mean! On with the tag...

1. Are you more of an Alice, a Mad Hatter or a Queen of Hearts?
I think I'm a Mad Hatter if I'm totally honest! Not only do I love a tea party, but I am totally mental at the best of times. I'd like to say I'm Alice... Because like her I do lose my way and am curious as can be, but my quirky sense of style and my excitable-ness leads me to believe I'm a true Mad Hatter at heart!

2.If you could only take one of your possessions down the rabbit hole, what would it be?
My camera, so I could take photos of it all of course! Who wouldn't want to keep the memory of Wonderland in photo form to admire back home? I also find most of my inspiration from photos and pictures, and creating them so I think it would be wonderful to have Wonderland captured in some beautiful photography.

3.If you could choose one Youtuber to have a tea party with who would it be?
I think it'd have to be Louise, Sprinkle of Glitter. I love how happy, smiley and bubbly she is and I feel like she's never steered away from who she really is on YouTube. She's just so real, and I'd love to get to know her and possibly Baby Glitter ♥

4. How would you verbally slay a real life Jabberwocky eg. anxiety, confidence issues etc?
My Jabberwocky would be verbally slayed with issues about believing in yourself. I've been suffering from self confidence in the sense of believing in what I'm doing and where I'm going. Recently I've been working my butt off to prove that I can be the person I want to be and go where I want to go and that no one is going to stop me. Call it a literally Quarter-Life Crisis if you will with the whole "Where am I going? What am I doing? What if it doesn't work out the way I wanted it to?" but now I'd just stick my middle finger up to the Jabberwocky and say, "Watch me"!

5. Which brands would you add to your teapot to create your perfect Bloggers Fashion Week brew?
Oooooooh. At the moment I'm loving quitea few brands, but my Bloggers Fashion Week brew would consist of:
ASOS - for versatile style and online amazingness
Zara - for timeless staple pieces
TruffleShuffle - for their awesome printed tees
and Office - because shoes.

If you're going to #BLFW tomorrow pleaaaaaase come and say hello to me! I am a happy and chatty person and I'd like to make some new blog friends ♥ I know I said I wouldn't say what I'm wearing but I'll probably be in a striped top and some ripped knee denim ♥ If you are coming see you there, and if not - I'll be posting all about the event in the coming week!

What Cat Wore | Spring Time

Jumper - Topshop // Shirt - Primark // Leggings - Topshop // Boots - New Look
Scandalous Lipstick in Depraved - Makeup Revolution

I love this whole 'shirt falling out of the jumper' style and it's one I'm constantly sporting for a smart casual look. And this jumper is constantly the centre of these looks so I think I need a few more cute cropped jumpers like this, because I'm sure any regular followers are sick of this mint green ball of fluff. I wore this look with a shirt I had completely forgot about until I found it at the bottom of my suitcase. I think I've only worn this shirt once or twice, and I love it so much I don't actually know why I don't wear it more often. It's got the prettiest floral print on it, and this was one of the first shirts I bought as part of a chiffon shirt phase.
This is a bit of a change to all the monochrome looks I've been posting recently. With spring being right around the corner, I'm feeling the pretty pastels and florals again! I can't make my mind up with a signature style can I...? Jack of all styles, master of none.

What Cat Wore | Vertical Stripes

Cami - Dorothy Perkins // Cardigan - River Island // Trousers - Miss Selfridge

On close observation you'll notice I am not wearing any shoes. This is because I forgot to put some on, and upon realising this information I'd already taken all the photos and decided I quite liked them. It was early morning, that's my excuse.
I had to get some style inspiration from Pinterest before wearing these amazing wide-leg trousers because even though I am totally in love with them, I didn't know how to wear them. A little Pinterest inspiration and voila - this was the result. It's probably my most favourite ever outfits to date, and I love how these can go from creating a great statement look to a relaxed one like this. The trousers are actually pretty comfortable, and the flare on these is just crazy taking me back to my days at school where I was obsessed with flares that covered my feet. And though I have had a few giggles and jokes about my "clown trousers", I don't care. They're amazing to me, and I can't wait to style them again!

What's your take on wide-leg trousers?

What Cat Wore | Cherry Blossom

Dress & Shoes - Miss Selfridge

If I'm ever feeling like I need a super girly, or smarter-than-jeans-and-a-tee outfit for work, this is my go-to dress always and probably my prettiest at the moment. I absolutely love this thing and bought when it hit the sale a few months ago. It's such a pretty and easy dress to throw on for a smarter and girly look and though I'm not a sleeves kind of gal, I love the bubble cuff. It also helps that it's really comfortable and looks great with my faux fur gilet too just to add some extra texture and beat those colder days. The absolute best thing about this dress though, is that wearing it feels completely effortless. The best for those lazier days when you still need to look good! ♥

Wishlisting | Asos

Assymetic Top | D-Ring Back Top | Cut Out Top | Stripe Playsuit
D-Ring Side Top | RI Culottes | Swing Dress | Denim Jacket
Cross Body Bag | Pink Cage Shoes | Grey Skinny Jeans | V-Back Jumper

I'm the sort of woman who is a bit weird about online shopping. I spend hours window shopping the likes of Boohoo, Missguided and most often Asos, and I always find myself opening tabs and tabs of things that I'd love to add to my wardrobe. But I'm always worried of being disappointed in the product when it arrives, down to quality, detail, material and fit. (Plus it's a pain in the arse to send back.)
But in an attempt to re-vamp my style to become more sophisticated, sexy and stylish, and to also discover more brands, I want to start buying online - because right now I'm ashamed to say: I don't. My wardrobe is filled with just high street brands and I feel that I need more depth and interesting pieces in my wardrobe as well as broadening my shopping choices. And especially after mooching around Asos again the last couple of evenings, I've found so many things that I'm loving, the ones above being my most favourite. If I'd have to get just one outfit out of the pieces above, I'd definitely go for the grey jeans, pink shoes and the side D-Ring top. That would make one hell of an outfit!

Where are your favourite places to shop online?

What Cat Wore | Rosey Gold

Cami - Miss Selfridge // Skirt - River Island (via SwapShop)
Shoes - Miss Selfridge // Watch - Olivia Burton

So of course, Sunday was Mother's Day and I have to say it's probably the most successful Mother's Days yet! The whole family got together and it was truly a lovely day out. We went to the cinema to see Home which I recommend going to watch (!) and then went out to Nando's for dinner. A simple Sunday out, but we don't often go out together so it was really nice. And mum really loved her present too which made me really happy because I'd spent a lot of time making it, and it had a little story behind it
Of course, I was going to get a little more dressed up this Sunday going out all day and I finally ended up wearing this beautiful skirt I managed to get my hands on at the last Blogger Swap Shop. I was finding it a little difficult to style, but after a while I settled for a simple look that would keep the skirt's statement status. I wore it with a black cami, black tights and my nude mules which really helped balance out the pinks and metallics throughout the outfit. I really loved this outfit and got lots of compliments on it, and I can't wait to style this skirt again. I think it's my new favourite.

What Cat Wore | Slashes & Stripes

Jumper - Zara // Jeans - Miss Selfridge // Converse - Very // Necklace - Primark

A casual Saturday work outfit. Nothing beats casual style like a lovely over-sized jumper and some jeans. Yes, the same jeans two posts in a row - but I'm loving them that much. They're so comfortable, soft and add a little extra style with those ripped knees.
I bought this jumper in the Zara sale a few weeks back and it just caught my eye because it shouted out 'comfy go-to jumper'. I bought it in a large for that over-sized look (and because that's all that was left) and I'm glad because I like jumpers when they're lots bigger, they're more comfortable and stylish when they're slouchy. At least that's what I think. It's been a much loved jumper, and I'm really getting into my stripes recently. Who doesn't love a stripes?

What Cat Wore | Cat in London

Tee - Topshop // Jeans - Miss Selfridge // Cardigan - River Island // Converse - Very

I completely forgot how much I love my stripey cat tee, so when I saw it at the bottom of my suitcase I just had to wear it on my day out to London when I went to get my passport sorted and do some casual retail therapy. I bought it in the Topshop sale last year and can't believe I forgot about it, especially with it being so much of a favourite last summer. I don't think I've even blogged it yet bearing in mind the many times I've worn it. I love the mash up of stripes and cute doodle cats all over it. Totally adorable.
I decided to wear it with my latest denim addition which are these great slash knee jeans from Miss Selfridge. I'm obsessed with the slash knees with these being my second pair like this; And though I've been looking into getting some with more rips in, I love the simplicity of these ones - not too much. And I've been dying for a new pair of nice black jeans since my Joni's are basically grey now.
I also am totally in love with what my boyfriend keeps calling "my cape" which is this super long draping cardigan from River Island. I've been wearing it non-stop with everything. I can't help it - I get like that with cardigans and I don't know why. Sometimes not even I get me...

I'm loving all the new denim coming out at the moment. There's so many new styles of jeans, and denim dresses, etc. I've always been a big denim girl if you haven't noticed yet and I can't help but feel some hot denim fever coming on. Bring me all the ripped jeans, denim jackets and skirts! I want it all....

What Cat Wore | The Little Black Shirt Dress

Dress - Miss Selfridge // Bag - Primark // Cardigan - River Island // Boots - Sperry Top Sider

Say hello to my new favourite dress! I was always into the 'Utility' trend, and for me it was a style phase I went through in my un-stylish years of 6th form. I basically wore black, white and khaki and it was better if it had a utility element, so combat trousers, multiple pockets or D-Rings.
After seeing that the 'Utility' trend is coming back for SS15 I got pretty excited, and now I can't wait to add some classier and prettier staple utility pieces in my wardrobe and bring back that utility element I loved so much - with this dress being the first.
I kept this outfit simple, because the dress alone is perfect as it is. I love the simple gold detailing, the D-Ring belt and the conventional curved shirt hem keeping it as shirt like as possible the whole way down! The length is a comfortable long (but not too long) length making it okay to wear with some nude tights (even in this cold weather!) and I threw on my new long line draped cardigan to make it just a little bit warmer without hiding the dress too much.
I'm head over heels for this look and I can't wait to wear this dress again, and in so many different ways I can think of too. It works to wear it open and I'm thinking it'll look great with my faux fur gilet too. I actually think I need a denim jacket in my life so I can wear this with that... That sounds like a dream outfit right there.... *sigh* ♥

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Utility trend?
