My April/May Favourites

Please excuse my rubbish quality photography and editing skills. I don't know what happened... I have good days and bad days with photography! Anyways - here are my favourites for the last two months. I realised I totally missed out April's favourites last month, so I thought I would double them up for this month. My favourites have been pretty solid for the last couple of months so it's kinda worked out, but here they are and why - Enjoy!

My May

The month of May seemed super long, and probably because I was wishing my month away being so excited for my week off this first week of June. I know it's silly to wish time away, but when you have something so nice to look forward to, you want it there quickly. May was boring though. I casn't lie and say I did lots, because I didn't do much else but work and blog a bit.

I do although have two highlights of May, and my first in pancakes with my girlfriends at Potty Pancakes in Potters Bar. It was a lovely night full of catching up, and the best pancakes you've ever had if you've never been to America. I had bacon and maple syrup which I'd been craving for a while, but most of the other girls had sweet ones. It was so so good and I can't wait to go back again and try one of their sweet pancakes this time.
The second highlight of May was right at the very end. Last weekend I had my aunt and uncle (also my godparents) come over from France. It was SO lovely to see them both and I was so happily surprised when they came to say hello to me at work as I hadn't seen them yet upon their arrival. They were only here for two days, but in those two days we did lots - we went shopping, out for dinner at a casino, to the park, had a pub lunch and finished it all off with some bowling. It was sad to see them go back home so soon, but I'm glad I got to spend lots of time with them those two days and spend it well!

This month I've got a couple of things planned especially with my week off being here! And though I did have a boring May, I've made myself a small promise to do more. My thoughts are that small adventures like eating at a new restaurant, or taking a walk in a new park will make a life a little more interesting and inspiring. What do you think? I'd love some suggestions of places to go and things to see in the South East if you have any. I would be so grateful!

And how has May been for you? I hope more exciting than mine!

What Cat Wore | Smart Pastel

Top - Topshop | Jeans - George at Asda | Courts - F&F Tesco
Bag - Gift (from somewhere in Paris!) | PU Jacket - Warehouse

This weekend I had my godparents/aunt & uncle over from France to spend some time with us. I hadn't seen them in a long time, so it was really nice to finally see them and they even surprised me by turning up at my work Saturday afternoon! I'm really close to my aunt and uncle so I loved having them here ♥
ANYWAY. We decided to go to the G Casino in Luton for an evening out Saturday night, and this is what I wore. I'd like to apologies for the crappy photography, but it was late, I used the flash and it wasn't working out too great - but I really wanted to share this outfit anyways.

I bought this top in the Topshop sale for only £7 can you believe! It's such a pretty top and has a great open back detail only held together by two clips. I couldn't take a decent photo of it though, but I'm sure I'll be wearing this again on the blog where you'll see it soon! I went for an all pastel look wearing my white jeans and then my new purple courts I bought earlier on that day. I've got this idea of having a collection of courts in every colour, and this is my latest addition! I finished up the outfit with my new bag my aunt bought me from somewhere in Paris and a PU jacket because it was quite chilly.

We had dinner, listened to the music, played a few casino games and had a really good time overall with a couple of us winning a few pounds. Even though the casino isn't my favourite place to go for a night out because gambling isn't my thing, it is actually quite nice when you want somewhere to go that's a little more sophisticated. I won a little £1.20 on the 10p roulette machine...! At least I won! Haha x

Jord Wood Watch | Cora Series - Maple & Silver

Over the last year or so, I have become a fan of watches. I love that they're an accessory with a purpose more than aesthetics, but an accessory that never ceased to add a little something extra to an outfit. Recently, JORD Wood Watches asked me if I'd like to try out one of their watches and fell for the unique style of the wooden watch. I especially loved this simplicity of this watch from their Cora series. I've always been a lover of lighter woods which led me to pick this one, beautiful, light and versatile.
It only made sense to take the watch out on a beautiful sunny day and Saturday was one of them. I spent the day with my dog and little sister in the park, and it was lovely.

Mink & Stone Jewellery

When I was at the Bloggers Love Fashion Week in March, I had to take a sit down after my feet started to hurt from being up all day. Isabelle and I ended up sitting down next to Miisa - the founder of Mink & Stone and got talking about her brand. She and her husband had the wonderful idea of creating a website where the customer could create the perfect beaded necklace of their choice to go with any outfit. It's a pretty amazing idea, because every woman has been in that situation where they know what they need but it doesn't exist. On Mink & Stone you can create that piece you're looking for exist with the hundreds of bead choices and then save your designs on the website for other people to buy! ♥
Miisa was very lovely and designed me the beautiful pink and white choker which is actually my favourite and most versatile of the two and I have to thank her for creating such a beautiful piece. I later on designed the second one at home for plainer outfits to add a little statement! I love both these necklaces and worn them a lot over the last few months. The quality is high and they come in their own little bag for safe keeping. I'm really impressed with the jewellery quality and the idea and now I know if I get stuck with a piece of jewellery again - I know where to go!

What Cat Wore | Kryptik Rose LDN

Tee & Tote Bag - Kryptik Rose LDN *
Skirt - Primark | Boots - Timberland

I've been meaning to feature this look on my blog countless times, having worn this amazing cropped tee from Kryptik Rose LDN a good few times since I was gifted in in March! But alas, it is here now and I can share how great this tee is with you! Kryptik Rose launched their new SS15 collection called 'I Love Me' which you can obviously yell is based around loving yourself. Because it's true! You must learn to love yourself before you can be truly happy and it's a saying I do truly believe in.
The best thing about this tee apart from the beautiful circle rose print is the material. It's so soft and such a great quality and looks great off the shoulder which is how you'll often find me wearing it. Today I styled it with a blue bodycon skirt from Primark and a Kryptik Rose tote bag with the phrase 'I Love Me' printed on the front! I've been using this a lot lately for work since I can chuck a load of paperwork in it to take home and it's a nice size. And if you've been following me and my blog a while you'll see I'm still a big fan of complimentary colour clashes. I love blue and red together... I can't help it!
I'm a real big fan of their cropped tees at the moment and looking into adding the 'believe' crop into my wardrobe. Though slogan tees are slowing making it's way out of my style I still really love this one because of it's versatility and the shape being similar to this one.
I can't wait to see what Kryptik Rose's next collection it will be. If it's anything like this one, I'll be making sure I get my favourite pieces before they sell out! ♥

My Favourite Past Posts

Forgive me. I've been a ridiculously useless blogger these days as life takes over. My camera doesn't seem to be liking me right now either with a alleged "technical issues" including battery issues and that thing when it dislikes your face. So I haven't taken any of the blog photos for a million posts I actually want to be writing up right now.
I miss blogging and I seem to be sucking at it right now so I thought we'd have a little flashback where I share with you my favourite posts of the past! Just FYI, I was inspired by a post on Zoe London's blog where she shared 50 blog post ideas, and I love the idea of going back and re-visiting things you feel were successful or are proud of.
Let's start from the earliest...

'My Best Hot Chocolate' - I remember writing this clear as day. I had a strong craving for one of my favourite ever hot chocolates still to this day and I simply decided to write about how good it was and reminiscing about it. That was a good post, and a good hot chocolate. Maybe I should blog like that more. I miss it ♥
My First 'What Cat Wore' - Not titled What Cat Wore, but it is the very first of many outfit posts! I love this one because it opened a new door for my little internet space.

Little Badger Necklace | Just Trade

I was filled with excitement when Just Trade sent me the little Badger necklace I'd spotted and fallen for at Bloggers Love Fashion Week in March! I spotted him next to a rabbit necklace and thought he was so cute and so different to anything I'd seen before.
After having a chat with the lovely ladies who run Just Trade on the day and finding out more about the their business, I was really inspired by them and made sure I checked out their website and found the rest of the cute animal pendants like my badger made from a single Tagua nut from the rainforests in Ecuador, South America. Tagua nuts are also known as vegetable ivory and a widely popular and much better alternative to animal ivory, preventing poaching and the endangerment of ivory bearing animals like elephants and walruses.
This little guy was made by being picked as a Tagua nut that best represented the shape of a badger and being carved into one. He was then painted black before carving out the white details when dry and adding small pins for eyes. Cute no? What I love about this piece is that you can see all the hand carved detailing all over the piece and the effort that has gone into creating it. I love that he has such a unique story to tell when people ask about it too.

Badger Necklace - Just Trade *

Just Trade are a truly inspiring company and I say that because they work very closely with all the people that make the beautiful pieces for them in Peru, Ecuador and India. They also ensure that everything they sell is 100% Fair Trade. Now if that isn't an independent company that care for their people and the world and I don't know who is! I'd definitely recommend reading up on Just Trade and their values on their About Us pages before shopping their beautiful jewellery collections. And what's also great is that in each piece's description box, you can find out all you need to know about each item from where its made and who made it.
I know I'll definitely be buying from them in the future with my eyes set on the diamond pendant and brass ribbon rings first. Will you be visiting the Just Trade website today?

Wishlisting | Summer Fashion

Crochet Shorts | Day dress | Gladiator Sandals | Faux Suede Skirt | Cut-Out Jumpsuit
Midi Dress | Lilac Courts | Mint Sandals | Sunglasses

I am absolutely loving this season's trends and I'm keen to be getting some amazing new pieces in my wardrobe this year. I want more pretty dresses, coloured heels and brave statement pieces like big sunglasses and high leg gladiator sandals! I'm really into low neck lines, block coloured pieces and a smarter look. I'm totally over my slogan tees, crazy bold prints and super casual feel, but that's not to say I don't love a statement piece and my bold colours. I don't know... I think I'm loving a more 'grown up' look I guess!
