Style | Fringed Jacket

This fringed jacket is my new favourite fashion piece. I bought this beaut in the Next Sale last week and I can't get enough of it.
I went to Next on their first day of the sale and it wasn't as busy as I expected it to be so I had an enjoyable time shopping. Walking around I found myself a lovely high neck sleeveless jumper, and a few bits for my boyfriend too in the Men's section. But this jacket, I found very last minute just before I headed to the tills and when I tried it on it HAD to be mine! It was a perfect fit, and the fringing is just beautiful!

My New Hair

So, I cut my hair! Again.
Hair isn't something I've ever talked about on my blog before, but it's really important to me. I'm always trying to change it up or do something fresh and new and this time, I really wanted to talk about my style inspirations, styling and why I cut it to such a new style!

What Cat Wore | Floral & Gingham

Clashing prints is one of my favourite things to do when picking my outfit for the day, and when my aunt bought me this pretty floral cropped cami from France, I knew it would be a great clashing piece. I instantly thought of wearing it with my gingham jeans for a subtle clash, and I think it works quite well for a bright summery outfit.

What Cat Wore | Fresh Princess

Wearing this awesome new tee from River Island, all I've got singing in my head is "from West Philidelphia born and raised in the playground is where I spent most of my days..." Yep. The Fresh Prince of Belair, and I was a fan of  that awesome TV show! This tee says Born and Raised in 1990s but I'm actually an '89 baby by 10 days! But I was raised in the 90s so it counts - shush!
This tee is so cool, I've been looking for one with the split sides that I liked for a long time, and after finding this one, my want is fulfilled. Its so comfortable and for £10 in the River Island sale I cannot complain!

My Little Road Trip

July's My Little Box is here and this month it's about Road Trips. If you read my What Cat Did posts, you know me and the boyfriend love a good road trip and is probably the main reason why we stay in the UK for holidays. Because we get to drive to around the country visiting new places. This year we're going to Portugal in October to see some of my family and discover Lisbon, and this box has a lot that I'll need to have a super organised time and I'm looking forward to using it!

What Cat Wore | Down Town LA

The River Island sale is sale I just cannot miss and when I felt like I had first dibs when I visited the store on a lunch break. It was the first day in the sale and I didn't actually take to that many things... There were a couple of bottoms I was really into but it seems my size was all gone in them. I'll be trying for them online though. That said, I am always totally into their slogan tees and vests - they're the only brand who still do great slogan tees in my eyes! I  really love the shape of this vest and the fabric is lovely. The print is nice and simple too though I never liked city themed tees, I'm slowly growing to like them now. It's so comfortable and wears so easily with leggings, jeans or maybe even on it's own it's so long! The perfect vest for an easy, cool summer outfit!

As you can maybe tell I cut my hair again too. I realised I never blogged about my plunge to cut my hair short a few months ago but I did and it's something I'm going to maintain for a while which is new for me! Usually I want to change it up as often as I can - I'm easily bored, but not this time! I went in with a couple of photos of what I wanted this time and they really did me proud. I'm so happy with my new style and can't get over how much I love it. Would you like me to write about my new hair and inspirations? I think it would make a good post... I might just do it anyway! My inspiration was Lucy Hale (Aria in Pretty Little Liars). I absolutely love her short hair at the moment and went in with a couple of photos of her... I actually tweeted Lucy saying thanks for the inspiration and she tweeted me back!!! (I KNOW, OMG) Yes it was only an emoji, but I totally fan-girled hard that she not only saw my tweet but took the time to tweet me back. She's not only my favourite actress at the moment, but she has a beautiful voice, amazing style and ofc her hair is always on point. I'm still in shock... and it's still creating countless notifications on my twitter feed with all the favourites and retweets! Crazy huh? Have you ever got a celebrity tweet? This is my first one!

What Cat Wore | Poppies

I'm a new lover of Zara and this is my latest purchase from their amazing sale this summer. At £17.99 it's a higher price than I'd like to pay for something in the sale but I couldn't pass it up since I fell for it so quickly. The light poppy print is gorgeous and draped back with that tie up is a beautiful detail that makes a change from the typical front detailing.
I wore my new top with my trusty Topshop jeggings. Though they're super comfy to wear, they don't look too casual, keeping this outfit in the smart/casual category. I wasn't feeling any heels when I wore this so I stuck with a pair of light flats. I'm glad though because we ended up parking a long way up a steep hill for mine & John's mid-week date night.
We ended up in lovely Italian called Va Pensiero and shared a wheel of deep fried Mozzarella and ate a heaping plate of pasta each. There was so much on my plate I couldn't finish, but it didn't mean I couldn't order myself a Creme Brulee for afters - I always leave room for afters! We'd never been there before but it was so good we want to go again! I love discovering new restaurants, it changes it up from your usual chains as good as they may be. Let me know if there's any good ones in the Hertfordshire area I should try!

Back on the Zara topic - what do you think of their sale this summer? Have you bought any great bargains? I do have a new bag I should share with you - it's been a life saver for everyday use!

5 Blog Posts To Motivate You & Make You Re-Love Blogging

It seems when I have a bunch of blog post ideas, collaborations and new inspirations life throws everything at me all at once and then I'm too busy with life to blog. I am never that busy, but lately that seems to be the case - and it's taken me by surprise!
I've been so caught up with all the things that are suddenly happening in my life that I've completely given blogging a back seat. On top of all the new things, I've got my social and daily commitments, so that adds to the busy. I will admit that I've been totally engrossed by my new Netflix obsession: Pretty Little Liars, and over the last 3 weeks it may have replaced my blogging time at times... But even still, it seems like I don't have the time to blog and watch my new favourite TV show at the moment.

When it gets like this I do like to take a step back and really see how I need to manage my time, prioritise properly and still keep some time free to blog and relax after. And during those times, I usually like to pop onto BlogLovin' and read those lovely posts where bloggers share their top tips on ways to stay motivated and blogging happy as well as those non-blog related ones. They're my favourite to read at the moment and I thought it would be nice to share my recent favourites with you that helped me get back on the blogging horse! I hope you enjoy, and if you're blog is on here: thank you ♥
These bloggers have some more amazing blogging tips and I'd strongly suggest visiting their blogs and giving them some love on those awesome posts. I've got quite a few bookmarked and if not I save all posts like these on my collection board on BlogLovin' HERE if you want to see more! Also don't forget I'm on bloglovin' too if you want to follow me there and see more as it comes! I've got a bunch coming up to write about so expect some exciting stuff soon ♥

Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!

My June

Although June is over, and though I'm looking forward to a warm and sunny July filled with days in the sun, I've had a pretty awesome month, starting off with a week off and some time away from home.

The boyfriend and I ended up staying in a small town just outside Winchester for our time off work and had the loveliest break away. It was a great opportunity to escape the stresses of work and life, and just get back to a happy place and enjoy things again. We had such a lovely time and ended up visiting, Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester all in a matter of 3 days. Three very lovely places I wouldn't mind visiting again.
Healthy living started happening again this month, and I truly believe in the "it takes 21 days to make a habit" thing! My craving for sweet foods and sugar is at an all time low, and all I want right now are salads, wraps, chicken and fruit. Though it would be a lie to say I haven't enjoyed a couple of chocolate bars but I don't crave them at all now! I bought a bottle to put fruit in my water from eBay, and this was my kick start. Making water fun and tasty to drink really worked for me, and also that Kalamari Ceasar Salad from Frankie & Benny's. Mmmm, again please?
On the subject of food, I'd been out to eat so much last month... one week I must have been out three times all with different people. I've been much more of a socialite for a change and it's been lovely to go out and enjoy life properly, especially in such great weather! Weather like this calls for walks out in the park, barbecues and the beach front. That's what I aim to do a lot of July!

Talking of July, I seem to have made myself AWOL on here for the last week and not on purpose - I promise! If you're a regular reader: apologies. I've been so caught up with life stuff, I haven't made time for blogging... I've also been enjoying a few evenings outdoors and if I'm being totally honest with you - Pretty Little Liars has taken over my life. I think I might have a serious PLL addiction. I've just finished watching Season 3 and I'm so excited to carry on watching it and finding out who A really is!
I'm back from my time offline though, and with a few blogging things coming up soon I'm looking forward to working on them. I'm also planning a little Biscester Village trip for myself, a birthday treat to an indoor trampoline park for my sister and booking the final touches to my holiday to Portugal in October! Exciting stuff for me! What are your plans this month? Anything exciting or different?
