I didn't know what to expect of the evening as I hadn't been to an event like this before. All I knew was that we were going to see some of their newest products in action, and that alone was exciting and intriguing enough for me.
When Isobel and I got there, we were greeted at the door and taken to the floor where the event was being held and I was amazed by the room which looked like a pretty cool TV studio! There were the sweetest snacks in the back of the room and Schwarzkopf's products on either side of the room too.
The cupcakes looked an absolute dream in those pastel colours and they tasted a dream too! I really loved the macaroons too - I'm a sucker for a good macaroon. (Macaron, macaroon... I don't know!) Oh! And we also had some amazing smoothies to enjoy. I think mine was strawberry and banana?
Looking at all their products it took me back to my red-headed days, and also to the time I had a pink under-layer! I've always been a fan of their products and I could see a couple of new things I hadn't seen before that I wondered about. With pastel hairs being such a popular trend at the moment it was obvious we were going to see some girls test these out on their amazing stage set up they had going on.
When it was time to sit down, Isobel and I plonked ourselves right at the front of the light up sofas (honestly, coolest chairs ever...) to get the best view! We chatted for a while, smoothies in hand ready for the show to start. Lyndell Mansfield who's Schwarzkopf's Colour Expert was there to talk us through everything that was going on and give the girls dying their hair a little helping hang if needed. She was lovely to listen to and gave us some really great tips on doing your hair at home. She really upped my confidence after, and I'm pretty sure she upped everyone else's too!
First up was Hayley from Frock Me I'm Famous who was going for a Sun-Kissed look. She's a dark brunette like me and was going for a sort of ombré using their new Max Blonde colour that offers up to 9 levels of lift! I was SO excited about Hayley's hair because like me she had some dyed ends and I'd been thinking about going ombré again for a good 6 months I'd say. Lyndell had some great advice on how to get the blended look and even about asking a friend to help if you're not feeling confident enough to do it alone!
Next, Youtuber Charlotte Hole was going for a Peach Melba look with Schwarzkopf's new pastel blondes range. I think she'd dyed it with the Blush colour the day before and was using a new pastel spray that is only launching in September to add some multi-tonal peach colours in there! The new pastel spray lasts 2-3 days in the hair and washed out completely - so great for weekends. Charlotte used the peach colour of course and applied it to dry hair and just had to dry it in when she was done. I was really interested to see how this worked with peach hair being a great new colour at the moment!
After Charlotte was Youtuber Maddie Bruce going for a Peppermint Ice look with the same wash out pastel spray in a gorgeous minty green colour! Green is a colour often shied away from so I was happy to see someone going for a green dip dye! She applied this to the ends of her hair and even before it was dry it looked amazing!
Ally from Ally in Blunderland had a pretty silver grey colour going on which I absolute love and wish I could pull off. (I know for a fact that I couldn't.) Ally was going to fulfil our fantasy dreams by going two tonal with a unicorn twist look using the pastel sprays again in a pink and a blue! Anything with the word unicorn is always exciting, even more so unicorn hair! She was applying the colours to alternate ends of her hair, creating a twisted, multi-tonal ombré look with the blue and the pink. I was excited to see her final results!
Last but not least, we had Youtuber Sophie about to give us pastel envy! (See what I did there?) She was going to go for a gorgeous baby pink ombré and had previous applied one of Scwharzkopf's new blonde shades with a beautiful rose tint to it! I knew it was going to be beautiful because like Maddie's - it looked great before she'd even finished!
Whilst we were waiting to see all five girl's final results a few of us bloggers from the audience had the opportunity to try out the new pastel sprays for ourselves. Amanda Bootes got up and tried out a pink dip dye and Isobel went for a thick blue streak in her hair! And because she was wearing flared sleeves, Lyndell asked for a friend to help so of course I volunteered!
We applied the blue pastel spray on a section that was on the opposite side to her usual parting so that Isobel could have it flashing through her usual style or she could change her parting to the other side for a bolder look! We thought it would look amazing in a plait too.
The consistency for the spray was very watery so it was easy to work with and create whatever look you're going for, whether it's a dip dye, streaks or just a flash of colour here or there. Honestly, using the spray was so so easy and there wasn't any worry about mistakes throughout the whole process.
When Isobel was done, she went off to get the product dried in with a hair dryer before coming out and showing us the results!
It was finally time to see the girl's results and I was honestly so impressed with them all, and loved each of their styles making me wish I could rock blonde hair! (I know I can't.)
Charlotte's peach hair was just amazing. She rocked multi-tonal peaches in her hair with both the permanent blush blonde and the wash out pastel peach spray.
Hayley's hair was my absolute fave, simply because I could relate to it the most! Her sun kissed look was gorgeous and it honestly looked as if she had just come back from holiday.
Maddie's pastel green dip dye was a lovely new twist to pastel hair. She rocked this look with a little half up, half down look using the half up as a top knot.
Ally's unicorn hair was so cool, with hues of blue and pink and areas that had gone a little purple too! I loved it, and I adored the dutch braid they did on her hair making her look like she had true unicorn hair. As unicorn as a human can get!
And Sophie rocked one of my favourite up-dos with pink space buns! I loved this! A style I could definitely relate to, and it looked even better with her pink dip dye.
The other blogger's who'd given the sprays a go looked amazing too! I loved each and every one of their looks and I just wanted to go home and go for the sun-kissed look like Hayley and wait for these sprays to come out so I could have pink, peach, blue or green dip dye for the weekend!
At the end of the night, we had an opportunity to chat to the bloggers and YouTubers who had their hair done and ask them any burning questions we had. I had the chance to speak to Ally, Hayley and Charlotte who were all super lovely to chat to.
We also were kindly given some of the products to try out at home! I received the new Max Blonde hair dye kit so that I could finally go ombré at home! And also a Colour Refresher for Cool Browns just to help me out with the blending process when needed. And just a heads up - I have done the ombré and there will be a post up on my experience with the product soon! I know - keen bean right!? Psst... There's a sneak peek on Instagram already and if you follow me on Snapchat (CatttSays) you might have seen the process too!
I'd like to thank Isobel for inviting me to the event again because I had such an awesome time with her and at the event. This girl is so much fun and we had such a good laugh together. I nearly lost this one on the underground, but thanks to the kind train driver who saw we'd been split by the doors and opened it for me so I could get on - haha!
And thanks to Schwarzkopf for having me at the event too! I had a lot of fun and I definitely learnt something! Really looking forward to the new pastel sprays when they're released soon too!
Will you be trying Schwarzkopf's Pastel Sprays when they arrive this autumn?
